Unfortunately, my word count has not budged since the first week of Nano for this year. I am going to try to make up for lost time due to a business event I had to prepare for, but 50,000 words may not be possible for this year. Oh well. At least, I wrote something. I would like to get close to 10,000 words at least. I have about a week and a half to go, but then there is Thanksgiving. Ugh…. there is always next year.

Word count so far…. 3,077 words
Well, I am trying to make up for yesterday’s lack of wordsmithing. That would be referring to quantity and not quality. I should be upto 5,000 words today. Maybe I will hit that tonight. I have a few hours to go in the day and I’ve managed to write about 1100 words in about an hour and half.
I really did not want to write today. I mean yesterday was different. The lack of words was due to work, which I finished. But today, I just did not want to write anything down despite the fact that I spent last night inventing new scenes to finally get my character out of the diner I left her in. Well, I finally got my butt in gear and my fingers typing though. About frellin’ time I guess. She’s still in the diner though…. hahahaha.
Oh… and if someone wishes to make comments that someone needs to register. Something I’ve had going since I upgraded to this version of Wordpress. Just sayin’.
I really do need to get some kind of NaNo word counter. Back to writing.

Most of those words are pure crap, but I am okay with that. My Internal Editor is on a nice vacation in a hurricane free zone so no chance of he or she coming back early due to wind, rain, and god-like tendancies of destruction. The story isn’t as bad as I feared. I like my main character once again. Her name is Alice and the first chapter is called “The White Rabbit” just because I like referencing old childhood favorites. I am a little under the daily goal, but considering I only had 500 words a few hours ago that is not too bad.
Gonna try and hit the goal before I head off to bed. Continue this streak after I get some pay-the-bills work done.

Writing is a simple trick: all you have to do is sit and stare at a blank piece of paper [or screen], until beads of blood form on your forehead… Spider Robinson
Spider has the “write” idea. Writing is sort of painful like that dull muscle ache you feel after a really good workout. You feel good during the activity, but you know you are going to regret it the next day. What I figure is if I just keep writing, even if it is only a few paragraphs a day, that pain won’t appear until December 1st. And maybe, just maybe, my mind and my hands will be used to it by then.
So here I sit with my laptop in front of me, waiting for the bloodworks to wash over me. Sure hope it does not mess up my screen.

The countdown has begun…. I think I’ll curl up into a little tiny, teeny ball right now. I know… I know. What am I doing here writing in this blog. I should be doing some actual writing for Nano, but I needed to say something first. Okay, so here it goes. I have no idea what I am doing, but that isn’t new nor is it abnormal for most participants in Nano. I’ll just have to suck it up and invent new words.
Here goes nuttin’.
